New Description: Wear Recycle's thirst for outside involvement

Wear Recycle is a collaborative production that guides individuals in finding an outlet to Wear down his/her Recycled behavior patterns in order to gain enough control to choose how to react to situations, as opposed to unconsciously reacting based off past experiences.

As her outlet, producer Nicky Watts creates a series of national and international art exhibitions based on her own exploration of self and effort to combat her extreme behaviors within intimate and professional relationships. The artwork is a result of collaboration and/or a meditative process. Creating collaboratively is the process in which Watts is forced to cope with her difficulties with communication, flexibility, and worthiness. She uses labor-intensive activities such as making and sculpting recycled paper or participating in Livin performances to meditate on her behaviors. It is within the reflection period that Watts chooses which behaviors she will change and which ones she will value.

The media used in Watts’ artwork vary depending on availability of materials and the specific collaboration. There are five different series of exhibitions: Wear Recycle; Torn Apart, the Wear Recycle Poster Show series, Livin Performances, Moments in Time; Wear Recycle Digital Photography, and Mediums Explored. Each has an individual importance within building the conceptual process of Wear Recycle.

Wear Recycle’s goal is to teach individuals how to discover, implement, and create their own outlet to communicate, explore, and change their own behavior patterns, similarly to how Watts is doing in her artwork. Wear Recycle’s goals are to teach individuals how to create positive change in their lives. Creating change isn’t always an easy process; Nicky Watts works to demonstrate that even though it’s not easy, it’s worth it in the long run.
